The University of Winnipeg PACE has partnered with PMI Manitoba for many years. Over the years, many students in the Project Management Diploma and, more recently, in the Advanced Business Management programs have taken advantage of the events and conferences offered by PMI Manitoba, like the PMI Manitoba monthly chapter meetings. Many of our students have taken volunteer positions with PMI Manitoba. At the PMI Manitoba conferences, such as Reignite, PACE staff can continue learning about the constantly changing industry while connecting with professionals working in project management. As sponsors, we want to continue to be part of the growing industry and offer students the opportunity to connect and network with like-minded professionals. Many students take advantage of this opportunity to learn and volunteer with PMI Manitoba and continue to give back long after they’ve graduated and have stepped into PM roles.

As a sponsor of PMI Manitoba, we value our collaboration, which has allowed us to connect with project management professionals and provide value to those looking to gain strong project management skills. Our collaboration with PMI Manitoba extends to our programming — we offer the Project Management certificate program, as well as micro-credential courses, which help prepare students to write PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) ® certification exam. In addition to the recognition we receive at in-person events and on social media, the use of the PMI Manitoba logo on our website highlights our collaboration, making students, potential students, and the project management community aware of our engagement in practice. Our strong relationship with PMI Manitoba has allowed us to strengthen our connections within the project management community in Manitoba and signal to our students that we provide the skills they need to succeed in all areas of project management.
