Overview:

AI is changing the world, and project managers, project teams, and their organizations must adapt to take full advantage of the wicked opportunities AI presents. These wicked opportunities require us to go beyond linear either/or thinking and become more adaptable to thrive in the volatile, complex, and uncertain AI landscape. Through understanding the very potential of our project team to adapt, we gain insight into how our team can become more creative, innovative, and adaptable to leverage AI to its fullest. By unpacking the features of adaptability and proactivity, this session helps participants gain insight into their capacity for adaptability, employ adaptive capacity processes, and manage the intersection of leadership and artificial intelligence.

Learning Objective:

  • Understand the characteristics of adaptability and proactivity.
  • Build capacity for adaptability through proactivity.
  • Manage the intersection of leadership and AI.
  • Enable better mental, physical, spiritual, and emotional health.

Dr. Fossey is a senior Systems Change Strategist, a certified Project Manager (PMP), and has his Doctor of Education degree from the University of Calgary. Richard’s research focused on senior leadership team adaptability within a province-wide healthcare organization providing service to over 1 million people. Richard’s work led to a deep understanding of how leaders can build adaptability within their organizations through embracing complexity and systems thinking. Richard came to fully understand, and appreciate, the importance of building adaptability, being antifragile in an increasingly complex world, and capturing the wicked opportunities we come across everyday.
