May Chapter Meeting: Developing a Curriculum; Project Leadership program

There is a widely used and generally recognized process applied in colleges and universities to develop a curriculum for a program or a course. The tools and techniques used are consistent with those used in project management. The presentation will focus on the development of the ‘Project Leadership Program’ offered by Red River College.

Wally Peech, PMP

Wally gained extensive development and experience in Project Management, Call Centre Development, Business Planning, Product Development, Market Management, Product Management, Sales and Operations while employed by Manitoba Telecom Services Inc., Telecom Canada, and Canadian Pacific Telecommunications from 1963 to 1998.

Wally teaches a Project Management curriculum for Red River College. He has developed the curriculum and is the Lead Instructor for the Project Management Certificate Program; and was prime in the development of the Project Leadership Program, at Red River College.

He is also the past Chair of the Project Management Program Steering Committee at Red River College. Wally has also developed curriculum and taught for the University of Manitoba and the University of Winnipeg.

Wally was the recipient of Red River College Continuing and Distance Education 2011 Teaching Excellence Award.

He is a current member and past Board Member of the Manitoba Chapter of the Project Management Institute. In 1996 he earned his Project Management Professional ‘PMP’ certification from the Project Management Institute.

Wally is the owner and President of Earned Value Management Services Inc., offering project management education, consulting and management to academic, government and corporate customers in Canada.

Wally is married and has five children.
