2020 was a wakeup call for many organizations and a reminder that a business may need to pivot very quickly to survive. Storing, managing, analyzing and using our data to predict best value positions is essential, yet an NTT DATA survey showed that only 79% of organizations recognize the strategic value of big data, due to large, siloed islands of data and the lack of skills and talent to mine the data.

We have mastered the art of creating and collecting big data.  In this session we will review best practices for managing data in a large enterprise project.  We will also dive deep into some lessons learned from creating data silos and how manage an organization from data silo through to data prediction.  At the heart of the session will be the results of NTT DATA global study on data usage and patterns from around the globe.  The study reported that 37 percent of businesses are very effective at using data and 31 percent are using data to enter new markets. It also noted that 59 percent of the financial services sector report being fully prepared for new data regulations, and 34 percent report data is shared seamlessly across the enterprise. More than eight out of 10 respondents from the manufacturing sector noted the organizations ability to act in the event of a data privacy breach, but the sector reported struggles with data silos. 60 percent of healthcare respondents have noted that organizations are aware and prepared for new and upcoming regulations, but there has been a lack of data literacy skills.
