PMI Manitoba announces assistance to Ukrainian refugees in Manitoba
One in seven Manitobans is of Ukrainian descent.
PMI Manitoba recognizes the deep bond and history of friendship our province has with Ukrainians, and we are deeply saddened by the ongoing war and humanitarian crisis happening in their country.
As a for-purpose, mission-driven professional association, we are focused on making the world a better place through project management. We value our diverse and inclusive community, the passion and commitment our members and volunteers have for supporting one another in times of difficulty, and the willingness to leverage their expertise and experience to help in tangible and meaningful ways. Now more than ever, we must embrace our ethical values of honesty, responsibility, respect and fairness and unite as a membership association.
PMI Manitoba has joined the many organizations that are coming together quickly to support those impacted. Effective immediately, PMI Manitoba will support Ukraining refugees relocating to Manitoba as follows:
- Chapter membership dues will be waived for a one year period.
- Chapter events fees will be waived for a one year period to assist with the maintenance of their certification status through professional development units (PDU).
To claim these benefits, refugees must contact president@pmimanitoba.org.
In addition, PMI Manitoba has made a monetary donation of $1,500 on behalf of the Project of the Year nominees, to support humanitarian efforts via the Canadian Red Cross and Health Partners International.
PMI Global is also providing additional assistance to Ukranian nationals including extensions in membership, certification renewals, and certification exam deadlines. For more information go to: https://www.pmi.org/about/solidarity-with-ukraine.
